DMV Access recently had a chance to speak with Dollerie from New Jersey and got to ask him about how he got into music, where his music is going, his thoughts on the BLM movement and more. Read our short conversation with him below.
Q: What's your stage name and where are you from?
A: Dollerie and New Jersey
Q: Talk about the style of your music and what makes you different from other artists?
A: I have a certain sound I try to keep. I like to be versatile while keeping my main melodic sound. I like to be free in my music if I want to sing or feel that will bring more energy or emotions to my music I will do that and if I want to just make a chill straight hip hop rap I can also do that. My main sound would be my melodic trap soul mix.
Q: Who are your musical influences?
A: I have a few start wit the Og Biggie than I would say Young Thug, Gunna, Fetty Wap, Xxxtentacion, and lil Yachty
Q: What are songs of yours that we should check out?
A: limelight, silent dreams, ranks, sunlight with new rays
Q: What are your thoughts on the BLM movement?
A: I’m with it 100%. People had enough and being African American my self it’s sickening seeing how blatantly racist the system is and how you're considered a threat in this world just for your skin tone. I don’t believe at all only black lives matter but it’s one thing that yes needs to be expressed and more focused on because after years and years of fighting to be equal it seems nothing has changed and it’s so sad to know that innocent African Americans are really just being killed and brutally assaulted just cause they look Suspect due to there skin. How I see it the only way there will be change is if we all come together and see who the real enemy its not the people or white vs black nah it’s the corrupt system that continues to target people based on skin tones and personal beliefs as well as just abusing there power. Shit needs to change and until we the people unite and stop causing problems amongest each other and really see who the problem is that won’t happen.
Q: What would you like to say to your fans?
A: I’m beyond blessed and grateful for every single one of them. I say it often but I really wouldn’t be where I am at all without them and I will continue to connect with them on personal basis through my music and other social ways. The growth just from them sharing my music and really just wanting to see success in me is really what keeps me going and never giving up. I’m trying to do something different with my music and my fans, I know they see that. I will continue to put my all in to every song, mixtape, album, etc so I can give them what they derseve. I love them and that’s Foreal🖤
Q: How can we reach you?
A: Through Instagram: @ofc.dollerie or email: dollerieofc@gmail.com that would be easiest for more personal and strictly business matters my # or manager's # but email me separate for that
